Just catching up on the backlog of news, this one caught my eye from the Vancouver Sun, that does give you that Christmassy feeling. Kids playing games in Club Penguin have donated some of their winnings to the Coins for Change programme.
Actually, an awful lot of their winnings. 2.5 million users donated an average of 1000 coins each. Translating into $1million being split between three global charities.
I think this would meet David Puttnam’s plea for childrens virtual worlds to treat them as more than just consumers.
