Duran Duran formed part of the soundtrack of my teen years and, like me, they’re still here. They’ve also been busy embracing Second Life although, as many in world will tell you, not quite yet to the extent to which they have promised. That said, there are huge numbers of Duran fans in Second Life, who are very actively putting together their own content until the band do something.
A challenge went out from Duran Duran to produce a video mash up for their new single “Falling Down” and some of the results are incredible. Apologies for the shameless plug, but Jomado Laval sent me the link to the one she has been involved in, and I think it’s amazing, for a couple of reasons. It’s a great film in it’s own right, but it also shows the creativity of Second Life, the beauty of some of the builds, not to mention the surreal nature it can often have.
But there again, pop videos have rarely been about reality!
If you want to see it, then it’s already on You Tube and is having an in world premiere tonight. Good luck to the team behind it, there’s a big prize at stake.
